What type of Articles are in Bison Illustrated?

It has been a whirlwind of activity here at Bison Illustrated since we announced the magazine a few weeks ago. First of all, we would like to already thank you for your support and interest. Talking and interacting with individuals and businesses who are just as excited about the magazine as we are is a magnificent pleasure.

Since the first issue of the magazine has not yet been released and available for everyone to touch and feel, we have received many questions and comments about the content, the two most prevalent questions are what sports are covered in the magazine and exactly what types of articles are in the magazine.

Regarding the question about what sports are covered, ALL men’s and women’s NDSU sponsored sports are covered in Bison Illustrated. The short answer to the second question about content is that the articles are about the aspirations, achievements, challenges and adventures of the individuals and teams who currently, and historically, make up Bison athletics. To satisfy the long answer, we have included a break down of the articles and categories directly from our editorial calendar below. Each of the items listed here will be in every issue.

• The story of an NDSU athletics personality, detailing why they became a Bison, a look at what they have accomplished and their plans for the future.
• Where are They Now
• Ever wonder what happened to your favorite Bison? We track down some of your favorites and find out what life has been like after NDSU.
• Tradition and History
• Stories and memories from the past looking at the experiences, origins and growth of NDSU athletics.
• Cover Story
• A free format story to take an in-depth look at anything Bison, including individuals, teams, current events or other highlights.

Commentary

• Letters to the Editor
• Readers sound off on suggestions, comments, concerns and questions.
• Coaches Voice
• A coach or coaches are invited to discuss a current topic of choice.
• Devils Advocate
• An editorial to provoke and inspire debate and conversation about current hot topics.

Contents

• Atmosphere
• A look at tailgating and other event activities including tailgating rigs, pictures, and stories.
• Family
• Includes perspectives of the spouses around athletics as well as unique giveaways, featured spouse recipes and reader contributed kids’ pictures.
• Team Makers
• Contains messages from the athletic department and Team Makers, event schedules, and provides quick profiles of student athletes, and members of Team Makers.
• Seasonal Sports
• An update on ALL the in season sports including views from the eyes of the student athletes.

In addition to the above content we have many more things we would like to get into the magazine and will do so as space permits.
